Fleming Howland continues a 200-year tradition of hand-applied dyes and polishes. The process brings a supple touch and a warm, natural fragrance, while allowing the leather to develop a patina that grows richer with time.
Colour dyes are carefully blended and worked by hand into the surface, a process repeated at least six times to build a richly toned patina. The leather absorbs colour at different intensities across its surface, preserving the unique markings of the hide. The result is a full-grain leather of distinction; supple, expressive, and unmistakably individual.
The original leather
The Hand-Coloured leather remains the most authentic expression of Fleming Howland craft, its organic surface revealing the natural scars and hallmarks of the hide. These natural scars are part of its story, though not everyone seeks such expression. For those preferring a smoother finish, the Saddle and Antiqued ranges offer a cleaner surface while preserving the same depth of quality.

Leather upholstery is often thought of as a luxury, but the benefits of using leather go far beyond its elegant look. Leather is a durable material that stands up to wear and tear better than many other fabrics. In addition to being resistant to tears and punctures, it also offers a high degree of stain protection.
