Set in the heart of Detroit, the Colony Club embodies the city's storied architectural heritage and spirited resurgence. Its Georgian character, rooted in symmetry, proportion, and finely wrought detail, provides a gracious backdrop for contemporary events.
Originally built as a private social club, the building has been thoughtfully restored, its historic interiors sensitively adapted for a new generation while retaining their grandeur.
By Design
In collaboration with Patrick Thompson Design, Fleming Howland furnished the Drawing Room and adjoining lobby with pieces that soften the Georgian formality: leather upholstery, woollen textures, and velvet accents that lend the spaces a warmer, more residential sensibility.
Enduring Grace
The Colony Club moves effortlessly between past and present, its restored interiors shaped as much by history as by thoughtful design. With a lighter, more welcoming character, it offers a setting that feels both refined and lived-in, ready to host the next chapter of Detroit’s story.
