International deliveries can involve several stages, but you remain a Fleming Howland client throughout. We coordinate the relevant carrier handovers and will explain the expected route, delivery service and local contact arrangements before dispatch.
All prices include delivery and applicable taxes for the destination shown on the product page. Packaging and transit insurance are also included. The delivery service provided depends on your country, as explained below. Check that the destination shown alongside the price matches your intended delivery address before ordering.
Remote locations, restricted access and additional delivery services may involve surcharges. Contact Fleming Howland before ordering where special arrangements are required.
What does the estimated delivery period mean?
The estimated delivery period displayed on each product page applies to new, made-to-order furniture. It is a guide, not a confirmed delivery appointment. Estimates are based on the production queue and may change with demand, the agreed specification and delivery requirements.
For an existing order, contact Fleming Howland for an update rather than referring to the dates currently displayed online, which apply to new orders. Include your order reference so the schedule can be checked against your furniture.
Production and order progress
Furniture is made to order to the agreed specification. Material availability, bespoke alterations, upholstery work and finishing requirements can affect the production schedule. Each order undergoes quality checks before dispatch; where further work is required, this is completed before the furniture is released.
Standard payment terms are a 50% deposit when ordering, with the remaining balance payable before dispatch. Full payment is required before the order can proceed to collection planning. Further details are available in our payment terms.
Updates are available from Fleming Howland throughout production. Completion is confirmed once the furniture is ready for dispatch; the delivery appointment is arranged separately.
Deliveries within the UK, USA, France and Belgium
Prices include a white glove delivery service: two-person delivery, placement in your chosen room and removal of packaging. Applicable taxes, duties, packaging and transit insurance are included in the price.
Room placement depends on suitable access throughout the property. Delivery vehicles can be large, so limited road access, narrow entrances and other restrictions must be discussed before delivery is arranged.
Deliveries to other countries
The included service is kerbside delivery to the street address, rather than delivery into your home. Vehicles may arrive with a single driver, so arrange for at least two people to be available to carry the furniture safely into the property.
Additional assistance, room placement or packaging removal must be requested in advance. Availability depends on the destination and carrier, and additional charges may apply.
Taxes, duties and international orders
International prices include applicable import taxes, duties and tariffs, as well as delivery, packaging and transit insurance. These costs are included for the destination shown, rather than left for you to calculate separately.
How delivery is scheduled
Delivery is managed by Fleming Howland through specialist furniture logistics partners. Following production and final payment, the order moves through collection planning, carrier scheduling and final delivery. Completion of production does not mean immediate dispatch or arrival.
The final schedule depends on regional routes and, for overseas orders, freight departures and customs clearance. Your delivery partner confirms the appointment directly. Fixed dates, restricted receiving hours or other special requirements must be discussed in advance; additional charges or delays may apply.
Furniture requires careful handling and does not travel through standard parcel networks. Further information explains why delivery dates are estimated and how specialist transport is arranged.
Access, remote locations and additional services
Remote addresses and restricted access may require arrangements outside the included delivery service. Contact Fleming Howland before ordering where the property has limited vehicle access or requires a non-standard delivery arrangement.
Check the full route from the delivery vehicle to the intended room, including doorways, corridors, stairs, lifts and tight turns. A clear entrance alone does not confirm that the furniture can reach its final position. Where access is uncertain, send the product name, relevant measurements and photographs or sketches for assessment before purchase.
Specialist lifting equipment, including cranes and external furniture lifts, is not included. Where required, the customer is responsible for arranging a specialist provider and any necessary permits. These arrangements should be discussed before delivery is scheduled. See our restricted access guidance for further information.
Receiving your furniture
Check the packaging before signing for delivery and record any visible damage on the delivery document. Photograph any areas of concern, then inspect the furniture once unpacked.
Report visible delivery damage to Fleming Howland within 48 hours of receipt, including your order reference and supporting photographs. Where damage is identified, retain the relevant packaging until the next step has been advised.
This reporting guidance helps protect the transit insurance position and does not affect your statutory rights. Further instructions are available in our delivery damage guidance.
Discuss your delivery requirements
For advice before ordering, contact Fleming Howland with the furniture you are considering, your delivery postcode or ZIP code, any access restrictions and your preferred timing. This allows the specification, delivery service and production considerations to be reviewed together.
